There are different varieties of tea flavors in the world with different tea benefits. We need to know that all tea comes from the same plant which is Camellia Sinensis. The main five pure teas are:

  • Black Tea
  • Green Tea
  • Oolong Tea
  • Pu-erh Tea
  • White Tea

Black Tea

The main difference between black tea and green tea is the processing of tea leaves. Tea has been the main source of drinking in India and China for many centuries. However, it came to the western part of the world around the 17th century.

Green Tea

Green tea is the one that is full of health and tea benefits. Green Tea comes with different varieties and tea flavors. It is a very healthy drink with lots of health benefits.

  • Increased mental alertness
  • Protect against heart diseases
  • Lower cholesterol
  • Prevents against cancer
  • Lower the risk of diabetes

Side Effects

  • Has a high amount of caffeine
  • Bleeding disorders
  • High blood pressure

Oolong Tea 

Oolong tea is also manufactured from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. Its process is almost the same as black tea. However, it depends upon the oxidation process that it tastes like black tea or green tea.

  • Reduce the risk of some cancers

  • High source of caffeine
  • It’s not safe in pregnancy

Pu-erh Tea

Pu-erh tea is also referred to as a fermented drink. Like red wine, it also consists of lots of beneficial bacterias. This is because of its process of manufacturing. The processing involves microbial fermentation.

  • Helps in preventing photoaging

  • A bleeding disorder
  • A heart condition
  • Diabetes
  • Diarrhea
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Glaucoma
  • High blood pressure

White Tea

White tea is the mildest true tea amongst all five. It contains very little caffeine in it, nearly about 25%. It is manufactured from the freshest leaves available.

  • Full of antioxidants
  • Protection against heart diseases
  • Helps in reducing weight
  • Rich in anti-aging properties

Side Effects

Apart from health benefits, white tea has some side effects also. The main problem with white tea is that it has a very low amount of caffeine content in it. White tea may affect pregnant ladies so they have to be more careful with it.
