1. Earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree

2. Get a License as a Registered Nurse.

Before applying for a Nurse Practitioner, all applicants must get a license of Registered Nurse. For obtaining the license, the applicants must be having a nursing degree with a passing score. Most of the states will check your criminal background history before admitting you to the training.

3. Earn Specialization while working.

There are many areas of work where a nurse practitioner can apply. Different areas require different skills and knowledge. For example, an applicant who is dealing with mental health specialization requires her knowledge to be excelled in psychological concepts rather than dealing with emergency areas or pediatric research. 4. Get an MSN or DNP degree.

5. Get Certified from Special Nursing Board.

The candidates must focus on earning a national NP certification from certified nursing boards. There are different organizations that offer such certificates. American Nurses Credentialing Centre, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, etc are some of the highly reputed boards that can provide certified training.

6. Get Nurse Practitioner State Licence.

The requirements for NPs include advanced nursing degrees and certifications. Candidates must be highly focused on their field of interest. There are other requirements also such as application, proof of collaborative agreement, etc for getting the State license of a Nurse practitioner.

7. Apply for the Job.

When you are accomplished with all kinds of advanced degrees and certifications, then you can apply for a job as an NP.
